Business Counseling and Support - Technical assistance or counseling for a startup or existing business owners or employers to assist with writing a business plan, provide demographic information, coordinate interaction as needed with the State of West Virginia, and act as a liason for traditional and non-traditional funding sources.Back to Top

Financial Packaging - Assist businesses in prepairing financial projections for loan packages and identify funding sources for training, loans, grants, tax credits, etc.Back to Top

Labor Market Information - Provide employers with employment statsiics, wage information, and current demographic information as it applies regionally or statewide.Back to Top

Layoff Aversion - Assist businesses to avert a layoff situation, by partnering with agencies to work towards solutions to retain currnet employees.Back to Top

Business Training - Training to help existing businesses or entrepeneurs that are interested in going into business in support areas including business planning, marketing, and use of technology. Back to Top

Tax Credit - Assist employers in hiring apllicans in a targeted area in order to qualify for Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit. Back to Top

Technical Consulting - Provide engineering and technical specification assistance for new and existing companies and processes. Examples of this may include, but are not limited to, plant floor layout for lean manufacturing, machine re-design, or Programmable Logic Control (PLC) coding assistance. Back to Top

Employment Ready Workforce - A pool of job-ready applicants for employers. Back to Top

Rapid Response Services - Provide out-placement services to assist companies facing right-sizing or closure. Back to Top



Training Support


Adult Education - Any training or education services for adults not currently enrolled in K-12 school to include, but not limited to, basic literacy, GED, soft skills, and technical training. Back to Top

Customized Training - Training that is geared to an employer(s) addressing a unique need, that could lead to a certificate, certification, and in some cases as AAS Degree. Back to Top

Current Employee Training - Any training for current employees to enhance their skills for retention in response to ner processes, technologies. raise skill level, etc. Back to Top

On-the-Job Training - Reimbursement to employers for a percentage of the cost for training new employees. Back to Top

Pre-employemnt Training - Employer specific training developed and delivered prior to hiring. Back to Top

Skills Assessment - Measure an applicant's or employees abilitieis in aresas such as math, reading, computer skills, soft skills, and physical abilities. Assessments used include WorkKeys, Direct, Indirect, Nondirect (DIN), etc. Back to Top

Wage Reimbursement - Opportunites for employers to receive reimbursement of a percentage of wages for eligible trainees and trainers as appropriate for a period of time.Back to Top

Soft Skills Training - Training that focuses upon specific or job training areas that are directly related to human resource and performance issues, such as communication skills, team work, conflict resolution, or customer service.Back to Top

Technical Training - Training - Training that focuses upon specific technical areas in relation to skills or job training including equipment operation, computer operation, and software utilization. Back to Top

Empoyee Recruitment/Job Fairs - Advertise positions for new and existing employers locally, as well as nationwide, through America's Job Bank and other media sources. Schedule and coordinate job fairs for employers needing mass recruitment for new and existing businesses. Back to Top

Employee Referrals - Referral of qualified registered applicants to job orders received for employers. Back to Top

Employee Placements - Directly place job-ready applicants for employers. Back to Top

Internships - Formal opportunites for student assistance in employement and learning situations that may or may not include saleries or college credit opportunites. Back to Top
